Step 1: Stand tall with your feet shoulder width apart and toes very slightly turned out.
Step 2: Hold a dumbbell so that the sides are in each hand at neck height.
Step 3: Initiate your squat by driving your butt back and knees outward.
Step 4: Hold the dumbbell at your chest as you squat.
Step 5: Descend in your squat until your hip crease passes below the height of your knee.
Step 6: Press your heels into the floor as you propel yourself out of the squat.
Step 7: Use the momentum of the squat to press the dumbbell overhead.
Step 8: Extend your arms all the way overhead until your arms are fully locked out next to your ears.
Step 9: Bring the dumbbell back to your chest and absorb into the squat of your next repetition.
